Health Promotion Educator

Central Vermont New Directions Coalition seeks a dynamic health educator/community organizer to join our Washington County efforts this spring! Work with CVNDC staff, community members, and VT Department of Health to reduce underage high risk drinking, tobacco use, youth cannabis use, and prescription drug misuse. Projects include implementation of prevention activities and social media campaigns, health promotion, and collaboration with youth/parent groups and community partners. Your creativity, enthusiasm and social media skills will help us promote healthy behaviors to prevent substance use, especially among youth and young adults.

Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal, organizational and social media skills; strong written and verbal communication; clear commitment to alcohol, tobacco and other substance abuse prevention; and a desire to work with youth and parents. Presentation, teaching, youth empowerment and/or community-organizing experience a plus.

Approximately 0.5-0.75 FTE with flexibility and benefits. Four-month position to begin May 2020 with possibility of continuation. Open until filled.
